HPE and Oracle Strengthen Partnership to Accelerate AI Infrastructure Deployment

HPE (Hewlett Packard Enterprise) today announced an expansion of its partnership with Oracle, deploying HPE Juniper Networking in Oracle AI data centers to assist Oracle in scaling its global AI infrastructure. This expansion builds on over a decade of engineering collaboration between Oracle and Juniper Networks and includes network support services and financing solutions.

Enhancing AI Infrastructure

Currently, the routing and switching platforms of HPE Juniper Networking support core elements of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) data centers and edge networks, providing the necessary scale, performance, and availability for Oracle's global cloud operations. As OCI expands its AI superclusters, the importance of this infrastructure continues to grow. Large GPU clusters create significant demands for bandwidth, latency, congestion management, and fault recovery, while Oracle's regional and edge networks must also be scalable to connect clusters with services, customers, and external networks worldwide.

Driving High-Performance Network Architecture

Rami Rahim, Executive Vice President of HPE Networking, stated, "Oracle is building its AI infrastructure at an extraordinary scale, and HPE, with one of the industry's most comprehensive AI data center networking product portfolios, has a unique advantage in supporting OCI. Together, we will drive high-performance network architecture to help Oracle meet the demands of an expanding AI environment in traffic management, power supply, space planning, and operational efficiency."

This expanded collaboration lays the groundwork for the future deployment of HPE Juniper Networking PTX and MX routing platforms, as well as QFX and EX switching platforms, across Oracle's global data centers over the coming years, including multi-year network support services. Currently, within OCI, MX and PTX routers support certain edge network operations, while QFX switches power multiple tiers of the regional data center architecture.

Additionally, HPE and Oracle are also collaborating on the development of intelligent telemetry technologies to gain deeper insights into device and network operations, helping OCI maintain high performance and resilience while continuously expanding its AI infrastructure.
