Databricks Opens Singapore Office with Over US$350 Million Investment

Databricks officially opened its Singapore office on November 4, 2026, as part of the company's investment of over US$350 million in Singapore. The new office, located at IOI Central Boulevard Towers, spans 32,000 square feet, making it four times larger than Databricks' previous office in Singapore, further solidifying the city-state's role as the company's regional hub for Asia-Pacific and Japan.

Significance of the New Office and Investment

During the office inauguration ceremony, guests included representatives from the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) and the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), who joined Databricks' leadership team for the ribbon-cutting. The opening of the new office will double Databricks' local workforce to over 500 employees, including more than 200 frontline engineers, which will aid organizations in Singapore in advancing AI from pilot projects to practical applications.

Supporting Startups and Nurturing AI Talent

As part of the investment, Databricks has also launched the Databricks Startup AI Accelerator, aimed at helping over 100 startups integrate AI into their products from the outset over the next three years. Additionally, Databricks is collaborating with higher education institutions in Singapore to expand access to industry-relevant data and AI skills, helping to nurture the next generation of AI talent in the city-state.

At the opening ceremony, guests also heard presentations from three award-winning teams of the Databricks AI Social Impact Challenge, showcasing AI tools they developed to address everyday issues in Singapore, including tools for nighttime heat exposure for HDB seniors, flash flood risk alerts, and access to essential community services.
